Honeymoon
Jimmy and I are pretty sure we picked our honeymoon spot today. We are going to Aruba and we are trying to decide between two resorts, but it looks like its going to be the Divi Aruba. Here's the link if you want to check it out! http://www.diviaruba.com/index.php It's so exciting to have this part of the wedding picked out. Neither one of us has ever been somewhere tropical. The only place we have ever flown together was to New York City, so we knew no matter where we went, we would have a blast! Plus, this is coincidentally the same spot Jen and Matt went on their honeymoon, so we know it will be amazing!

Christmas Tree
Today I went with Jenny, Matti and Cadi to cut down our Christmas tree. Jimmy and I have never gotten a tree together before. Our apartments have always been too small and I think last year we were just too overwhelmed with moving into the condo to deal with one. Unfortunately Jimmy had to work today, so he couldn't come along, but he's off tomorrow so we're going to decorate it. We're going to play some Christmas music, drink hot cocoa with Kahlua and trim the tree! With no snow on the ground, it doesn't feel much like December 6th. Hopefully a Christmas tree will get us in the holiday spirit!

Who Knew Trying on Dresses Was So Dangerous?
So, as I stated in my previous posts, my mom, sister and I went to David's Bridal in Albany on Saturday. They were so incredible, I really wish we had one around here. I have been to quite a few different bridal stores and this one was by far the most helpful. It was a little overwhelming at first. There were so many dresses, so many people and one salesperson to three brides. You really wouldn't know it, though. My girl moved so quickly, I was never once searching for her for help. She immediately started grabbing dresses off my list and when we had enough to fill a dressing room, she scooted me away from the gowns, asked me my bra size and told me to go grab some heels. I told her 32 double D and made my way off to the wall of shoes. I picked a pair that looked most like ones that I might wear and potentially the same heel height, 7 inch spikes. I met my sister in my dressing room and she informed me of the instructions from the DB girl. I was to first put on my shoes, then the bra and then the thingy that goes under the dress that makes it poof out. This is a little silly, I thought. Why would I put on the shoes before the skirt? But, I did as I was told and as soon as I lifted one foot to put on the skirt, I realized I should have trusted my instincts. I immediately lost my balance, but don't worry, I quickly caught it by stabbing my 7 inch heel into my thigh. I tried not to yelp or make too big of deal, just took some deep breaths, blinked back the tears and told myself beauty is pain or however that stupid saying goes. I walked funny the rest of the morning because I didn't want to get the skirt all bloody since I wasn't about to buy it due to my lack of balance. Although I have developed some bruising, I think my thigh is slowly getting better. I didn't walk as funny today as I had to on Sunday and Saturday and I have been using Neosporin like Danielle suggested. Still, I wanted to share my battle wound with all of you because I'm not sure you would be able to imagine the actual damage otherwise. Please take my advice, don't ever try on clothes wearing heels, it just isn't worth the damage.

I Found It!
Our trip to NY was a complete success! We found, purchased and took home my wedding gown! I can now relax and breath a sigh of relief. Can't wait for y'all to see it!

Neglectfulness
I have been told by some people (Beth), that I don't write enough on the blog. And looking at my post dates, I would have to agree. I am going to try my hardest to get better about it. So...
Today we had our annual Bouchard Girl's Day After Thanksgiving Lunch. It started sort of by accident a few years ago when my mother and I went downtown for some shopping and lunch. We got in touch with my Auntie Brenda who was also dt and she ended up meeting up with us. It was one of those unexpected incredibly fun days and we decided to make it a tradition. After a tiring, but fun holiday of cooking, eating, visiting, etc. it's so nice to have a relaxing lunch with loved ones. This year, Jenny and I arrived at Church Street Tavern and my mother was already there with a great table by the window so we could see the Christmas parade. We were patiently waiting for our Auntie B to arrive when in walked Auntie B with Beth!! We were so excited! It was a little surprise for Jenny and I, we did not know Beth was coming! We made Bethy promise she would continue to attend every day-after-Thanksgiving lunch from now on.
After lunch, after a quick stop at Something Sweet, we all headed off to Needleman's to see if any new dresses had arrived. We were all very hopeful, but unfortunately I did not find anything that I liked. I am trying my hardest to not get discouraged, but it's hard when I just didn't think it would take this much time/effort to find my dress. Jenny, my mom and I are headed off to Albany tomorrow am to a few different places to look for dresses, so hopefully I will find one there and y'all can stop listening to my complaining! Hope everyone is having a great Thanksgiving weekend! xoxo

I've Been Tagged
So, I was just thinking the other day how I should really post more than just stuff about the wedding on account of we haven't done anything with it in a while and I think people care more about just our wedding. And just in the nick of time, I was tagged by Jenny, which means I have to post 6 interesting things about myself, then tag 5 other people to do the same. So, here it goes:
1. Stealing this one from Jenny, but, yes, I can put quarters in my dimples. This trick always seems to come out when someone in the group has been drinking.
2. I became a vegetarian in July. I never ate a ton of meat anyway and one day I just decided, I'm going to give it a try. So far, it's been working out great! I haven't really missed anything terribly and I seem to cook myself better meals now that I am consciously trying to get all of the nutrients I need.
3. I have the best family and friends in the whole wide world. I truely do. I could not ask for a better support system or a more fun, hysterical, caring bunch. Sometimes I think I'm spoiled and I don't deserve it. I honestly think I have the best life in the world and I am so thankful for everyone who makes it so wonderful.
4. I can "trick" myself into liking certain things. I used to hate eggs and tomatoes, but I always really wanted to like them. I felt limited when I went out breakfast and would only order cereal or pancakes. So, I would just eat them here and there until I liked them. Same with beer and wine. I used to hate the taste, I only drank Captain and Diet. That got VERY expensive, so I just "tricked" myself into liking them and now that's all I drink, well, for alcohol, I do drink water and juice and stuff, I'm not a complete lush.
5. I am obsessed with The Office. I can have the most stressful day at work/school (which has been pretty much every day lately), but then come home and watch The Office and it makes me SO happy and all of my problems fade away! There is no one, and I mean no one as funny as Michael.
6. Jimmy concluded last night that if I were rich, I would be very fat and lazy. I always say, if I were rich, I would pay someone to do this... For example, cutting up my food, picking out my clothes and peeling my oranges. I immediately shot down his statement by letting him know that if I were rich, I would not be fat as I would hire someone to move my legs on a treadmill for me.
Since the only bloggers I know were already tagged by Jenny, I tag anyone who reads this post, please tell us 5 interesting things about you!

Officiant
Life gets so busy sometimes and it can be hard to do things you want to do and to see people you want to see. Well, we took some time to slow down last weekend and went to see the person we asked to officiate our ceremony. For those of you who don’t know, we asked our long time family friend, Bonnie and she is very excited about her role. Since before we got engaged, Jimmy and I knew that we wanted someone close to us to conduct our ceremony. Neither one of us is particularly religious, so we do not have a priest or a minister that we feel a connection to. It is really important to us to have someone stand before us on our wedding day that really knows us and knows our love for one another. We both thought Bonnie would be perfect in this role. Bonnie has been a friend of our family since before I was born, but I remember falling in love with her on the weekend that our family went to Maine when I was around 20. We had an incredibly fun night playing “Social” and some of us had walks on the beach that we have yet to remember, but the thing that I remember most was this incredible woman whom I could not believe that I hadn’t known closely my entire life. She had this incredible, contagious laugh that we tried to unsuccessfully mimic on the way back to VT. Over the next several years I got to know Bonnie more and discovered so many more things that I loved about her. She has easily become more than a friend, she is a cherished member of our family. It is rare that you meet someone in life that is genuinely a good person, one whom expects nothing in return for her acts of kindness, but I have found this in Bonnie. She does not try to be good person; it is just who she is. When Jimmy came into my life a couple years after our trip to Maine, Bonnie welcomed him with open arms. If we met up without Jimmy, she would always ask how he was doing and say “give my love to Jimmy”. We feel she is the type of person we aspire to be and we are honored that she has accepted the position to officiate our ceremony.

Trip to Plattsburgh Update
Our dress shopping was completely unsuccessful. The store we went to did not have what I was looking for, sigh. Thank goodness for wine and Target!

Dress Shopping
I have been looking for a dress for a few weeks now. I have been to many different places and tried on LOTS of different gowns, but I still have not found "the dress". My friend Haley was just saying that she bought her dress and all of the accessories in Plattsburgh and that it was a good excuse to go to Target (major selling point). My mom was thinking the same thing and said lets go to Plattsburgh this weekend. Well, I'm supposed to be working on two huge projects all weekend, but...I suppose my wedding dress will get me just as far in life as graduating college, right? So my mom, sister and I are heading out after work tomorrow. We're going to Target, then we're going to have dinner somewhere and head to the bridal store first thing in the am. I have definitely narrowed down my search and I know what I like and what I don't like, so hopefully I'll find something. Wish us luck!

You Wanna Know Something Amazing?
Wedding dresses make you look really skinny! It is unbelievable how tightly they can tie up those backs, I'm not sure where my love handles went, but I can handle not breathing for one day if it means I don't have to diet and work out for the next 10 months!

Nearly 10 Months Away
I decided to start a blog for those who are interested in keeping up to date with our wedding plans. We are having so much fun planning and we now have our venue, dj and photographer. I tried on wedding dresses for the first time this past Friday and my bridesmaids tried on their dresses yesterday. They are such good sports, they tried on dress after dress after dress with no complaints! I couldn't have pick a better group of girls to be a part of our day.
